Man fatally shot in South Chicago

A 27-year-old man was killed in a shooting Saturday in South Chicago.

About 2:15 p.m., Lacey Sheppard was in the 9000 block of South Commercial Avenue, when he heard shots and felt a pain, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was brought to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Chicago police are investigating the shooting.
