A teenage boy was critically hurt Sunday after being shot in Lawndale on the West Side.

The boy, 15, was outside about 5:50 p.m. when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up on Fillmore Street and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The boy was struck in the right thigh and taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. He was in critical condition.

Area North detectives are investigating.
