Man killed in Galewood shooting

A man was shot to death Sunday in Galewood on the Northwest Side.

Tyshaun Manning, 21, was outside about 2:35 p.m. when someone walked up to him in the 1800 block of North Mobile Avenue and opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Manning, who lived in Galewood, was struck in the side and taken to the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy found Manning died of a gunshot wound to his side, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
