Burglars steal vehicles from NW side rental lot

The suspects broke a window, entered the office and took multiple sets of keys before driving several cars and SUVs off the lot, police said.

Several vehicles were stolen during a burglary overnight at a car rental facility on the Northwest Side.

The break-in occurred between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Hertz Car Rental, 4621 W. Belmont Ave., according to Chicago police.

The suspects broke a window, entered the office and took multiple sets of keys before driving several cars and SUVs off the lot, police said. One vehicle left in the lot was damaged.

No one was on the property at the time of the thefts and no injuries were reported, police said. No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
