Boy, 16, fatally shot in Gage Park

A teenage boy was fatally shot Friday in Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

The 16-year-old was in an alley about 3:04 p.m. on South Homan Avenue when someone approached him and unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

He was struck multiple times in the head and body and pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Damien Duran.

An autopsy Saturday said Duran died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
