Man fatally shot in Austin

Jerry Montgomery was shot in the chest in the first block of South Leamington Avenue, police said.

A 67-year-old man was shot and killed July 18, 2020, in Austin.

A 32-year-old man was shot to death May 16, 2020, in Austin.

A 32-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday in Austin on the West Side.

The man was with a male suspect about 7:04 p.m. in the first block of South Leamington Avenue when the male shot him in the chest, Chicago police said. He was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Jerry Montgomery, who lived in Austin. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
