Police are searching for the car involved in a hit-and-run that killed a man in Woodlawn on the South Side.

About 12:30 a.m. May 10, a man was crossing the street in the 6600 block of South Cornell Drive when he was hit by a car that then fled the scene, police said.

Police believe the car that struck him may have been a black 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra. The car may have damage to the front driver’s side bumper and quarter panel, as well as its windshield, police said.

The man, later identified as 50-year-old Ronald Anderson, died 10 days later, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy said he died of blunt force injuries related to the collision and his death was ruled an accident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
