A 38-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday in Rolling Meadows.

About 5 a.m. officers responded to the 2000 block of Kirchoff Road for reports of shots fired and found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest, Rolling Meadows said.

He was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was pronounced dead.

Though the man remains unidentified, an autopsy confirmed he died of his injuries and ruled his death a homicide, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Rolling Meadows police said they are questioning “persons of interest.”
