A man was fatally shot Sunday in Ashburn on the South Side, police said.

The 36-year-old was with a group in the 8300 block of South Kedzie Avenue when someone fired shots from a vehicle, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in the head and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Ricky Hulitt by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Autopsy results released Monday ruled his death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
