Man shot to death in Chicago Lawn

The 27-year-old man was standing outside when someone approached him and fired shots.

A 27-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday in Chicago Lawn on the Southwest Side.

About 2:15 a.m. he was standing outside in the 6200 block of South Western Avenue, when someone approached him and fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the back and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Dennis Paige. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
