Three juvenile detainees escaped police custody Monday while being transported to a support center.

Officers were trying to take them to the Juvenile Intervention and Support Center about 7:25 p.m. in the 3900 block of South California Avenue when they escaped, police said.

Police did not immediately provide further information.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
