A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday in Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

The man, 26, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his head about 3:05 a.m. by officers responding to a ShotSpotter call in the 5800 block of South Rockwell Street, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Luis Davalos-Garcia of Chicago Lawn. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
