Man killed in Gresham shooting

A man was killed in a shooting Thursday in Gresham on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was inside a vehicle about 7:10 p.m. in the 8300 block of South Morgan Street when someone approached and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in the head and shoulder, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

He was identified as Kendrel Davis, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
