A 36-year-old Kentucky woman was shot and killed Monday morning in a motel in Norwood Park on the Northwest Side.

She was inside a motel room with a 64-year-old man about 11 a.m. when someone knocked on the door, entered and fired shots, Chicago police said.

Sarah Donohue of Louisville died at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy revealed she died of a gunshot wound to her head, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

The shooting happened at the Esquire Motel, 6145 N. Elston Ave., according to a law enforcement.

Area Five detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
