A Wisconsin woman was fatally shot Thursday in Fernwood on the South Side.

About 12:50 a.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 10400 block of South Eggleston Avenue, found her unresponsive with a gunshot wound to her hip, Chicago police said.

Larita M. Kinley, 37, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she died at 1:53 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
