1 killed, 2 wounded in Englewood shooting: police

A 24-year-old man was struck in the back and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Joshua Stokes, 18, was found shot to death on in Austin.

Three people were shot, one fatally, June 3, 2020, in the 6500 block of South Green Street in Englewood.

A man was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

About 4:40 p.m. the trio was in the 6500 block of South Green Street when someone opened fire from a dark-colored sedan, Chicago police said.

A 24-year-old was struck in the back and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Andre Jackson, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the neighborhood.

A 23-year-old was taken to the same hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said. A 20-year-old who was shot in the hip took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

No arrests have been reported. Area One detectives are investigating.
