Woman killed in West Garfield Park shooting

She was found with fatal gunshot wounds to her back, police said.

A Lawndale man was charged for the Sept. 26, 2020, murder of a teenage boy in Lawndale. — A woman was shot to death August 1, 2020, in West Garfield Park.

A woman was shot to death Saturday in West Garfield Park on the West Side.

She was found on a back porch about 2:42 a.m. in the 4500 block of West West End Avenue with gunshot wounds to her back, Chicago police said. The woman was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified her as Briana P. Ferguson, 23, of Lawndale.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
