Man shot to death in Chicago Lawn

A man was killed in a shooting Saturday in Chicago Lawn on the South Side.

The 44-year-old was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck about 5:25 a.m. in the 6100 block of South Troy Street, according to Chicago police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Juan Cervantes-Sierra, who lived in the same neighborhood.

An autopsy conducted Sunday confirmed he died of his gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
