A 17-year-old boy was injured by gunfire Saturday in West Lawn on the Southwest Side.

He was on the sidewalk with a group of people at 12:14 a.m. in the 3600 block of West 70th Street when a male got out of a white SUV and started shooting, according to Chicago police.

The boy was shot in the leg and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, police said.

The shooter got back in the SUV and fled the scene, police said. No one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate.
