A man was killed in a shooting Tuesday in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

The 26-year-old was on the street about 4:40 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Western Avenue when someone approached him and unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was identified as Anthony Cluchey of Brighton Park, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
