Man killed in Englewood shooting

Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 3:05 p.m. found the 32-year-old unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 5600 block of South Emerald Avenue, Chicago police said.

Six people were shot November 3, 2021 in Chicago.

A 32-year-old man was shot to death Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 3:05 p.m. found him unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 5600 block of South Emerald Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as being Jason Carson. An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled is death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
