Man dies weeks after Aurora shooting

Officers found Mario Palacios, 18, with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a car after crashing in the 1000 block of Second Avenue, police said.

Two people were killed in a vehicle crash Jan. 23, 2021, after the vehicle they were in fled from police in suburban Aurora.

An Aurora man died two weeks after he was shot in December in suburban Aurora.

About 8:30 p.m., Dec. 29, officers found Mario Palacios, 18, with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a car after crashing in the 1000 block of Second Avenue, Aurora police said in a statement.

On Monday, Palacios died of his injuries at Loyola University Medical Center, police said.

Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
