About 1:30 a.m., two males walked into a convenience store in the 1500 block of West Taylor Street, one armed with a rifle, and demanded money from the register.

A convenience store was robbed Wednesday morning on the Near West Side.

About 1:30 a.m., two males walked into a convenience store in the 1500 block of West Taylor Street, one armed with a rifle, and demanded money from the register, Chicago police said.

When the clerk told the men there was no money in the drawer, the males took several bottles of alcohol and fled, police said.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
