String of armed robberies reported in Albany Park, Irving Park

Police are alerting Northwest Side residents to a recent spate of armed robberies in Albany Park and Irving Park.

In four robberies since the middle of January, robbers targeted victims at gunpoint and stole their belongings, Chicago police said in a community alert.

They happened:

  • about 4 p.m. Jan. 13 in the 4600 block of North Hamlin Avenue;
  • about 12:20 a.m. Jan. 18 in the 3700 block of West Ainslie Street;
  • about 11 a.m. Jan. 18 in the 5000 block of North Springfield Avenue; and
  • about 10:55 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 4300 block of North Kildare Avenue.

Police said the suspects were men in their 20s or 30s.
