Burglar steals tools from garages in Galewood: police

Police are warning residents in Galewood on the Northwest Side of three garage burglaries reported on the same block in recent weeks.

In each incident, the suspect forced his way into the garage through a side door and stole work tools from inside, Chicago police said.

The three burglaries were reported in the 1800 block of North Neva Avenue at 6:45 a.m. Dec. 29, 1:30 a.m. Jan. 19 and 1 a.m. Jan. 28, police said.

The suspect was described as a man between 55 and 60 years old standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and weighing 140-160 pounds with short black hair.

He was seen driving a 2000-2002 white Ford Explorer, police said.
