Man found fatally shot in Chatham apartment

The 25-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A man was killed in a shooting Monday in Chatham on the South Side, police said.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired about 7 p.m. in the 7800 block of South Indiana Avenue and found the man inside an apartment with a gunshot wound to the head, Chicago police said.

The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Printiss Jones. He lived in Chatham.

Autopsy results ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area Two detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
