2 dead in East Garfield Park shooting

They were traveling in a vehicle in the 3000 block of West Jackson Boulevard when someone in a passing dark-blue BMW fired shots, Chicago police said.

Five people were hurt in a stabbing March 3, 2022 in Logan Square.

A man and a woman were fatally shot Saturday while traveling in a vehicle in East Garfield Park.

Someone shot at them from inside a dark-blue BMW about 8:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago police said.

Shanvonte Jackson, 21, was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Tiarra Robinson, 18, was shot in her head and died at Mount Sinai Hospital, officials said.

After the shooting, the suspects crashed into a parked car and ran off, police said. They weren’t located.

Area Four detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
