Woman fatally shot in Chicago Lawn

Diamond McAfee, 26, was standing outside a residential building when two people approached and opened fire, police said.

A man was killed in a shooting June 7, 2020, in the 12300 block of South Wallace Street in West Pullman.

A woman was fatally shot Friday morning in Chicago Lawn.

The woman, 26, was standing outside of a residential building about 12:45 a.m. in the 6200 block of South Rockwell Street when two males approached and opened fire, striking her in the head, Chicago police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. She was identified as Diamond McAfee by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No one was in custody.
