Man fatally shot while standing on Bronzeville sidewalk

The 47-year-old man was in the 4200 block of South Champlain Avenue when someone in a white sedan fired shots, Chicago police said.

A man was fatally shot Thursday night while standing on a sidewalk in Bronzeville on the South Side.

The man, 47, was in the 4200 block of South Champlain Avenue when someone in a white sedan fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was struck and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He has not yet been identified.

There was no one in custody.
