A man was shot to death Monday evening in Roseland on the Far South Side.

Richard Tate III was in the first block of West 113th Place when someone opened fire about 6:25 p.m., Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was shot in the back and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He lived in Hammond, Indiana.

No arrests were made.
