A man and woman are accused of abusing and killing a 2-year-old girl who died Tuesday in Marquette Park.

Milixen Ardon, 24, and Wilfredo Cruz, 43, are each charged with first-degree murder, Chicago police said.

The girl, identified as Alisson Zelaya, was found unresponsive Tuesday morning in the 6600 block of South California with “injuries consistent with child abuse,” police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:54 a.m., officials said.

Ardon and Cruz were taken into custody. They are expected to appear in court Friday.
