Person fatally shot in Lawndale

About 2:50 p.m., the male was near the sidewalk in the 2100 block of South Harding Avenue, when he was shot multiple times.

A man was killed in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Lawndale on the West Side.

Darnell D. Fort, 33, was attacked about 2:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Harding Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was shot in the head, legs and back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He lived on the same block where he was shot.

No one was in custody.
