A person was fatally shot Tuesday in Austin on the West Side.

About 4:05 p.m., the male was near the street in the 200 block of North Central Avenue, when he was struck by gunfire, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Loyola University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The man has not yet been identified.

Police are investigating.
