Man found fatally shot in Austin

Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the first block of North Long Avenue and found the man on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Seven people were killed including five children in a crash July 31, 2022 in McHenry County.

A man was found fatally shot Monday night in Austin on the West Side, according to Chicago police.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the first block of North Long Avenue around 11:40 p.m. and found Claude Bobo, 49, on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest, police said.

He was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, police said.

No one was in custody.
