Man shot during attempted carjacking in Bucktown

Two robbers approached the man in the 2000 block of West Shakespeare Avenue, demanded his car and shot him in the leg, police said.

A man was shot Wednesday afternoon during an attempted carjacking in Bucktown on the North Side.

Two robbers approached the man, 49, in the 2000 block of West Shakespeare Avenue around 12:10 p.m., demanded his car and shot him in the leg, police said.

The man was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition, police said.

There was no one in custody.
