Man dies after Englewood shooting

A 34-year-old man died after being shot early Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers found him unresponsive about 3:15 a.m. in the 2000 block of West 70th Street with gunshot wounds to the lower backside, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but died a few hours later, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide. He was identified as Floyd Johnson Jr. of Grand Crossing.
