Man fatally shot in Grand Crossing

He was walking in the 7400 block of South South Chicago Avenue when a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire, police said.

A 38-year-old Lawndale man was killed in a shooting Monday in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

He was walking about 8 p.m. in the 7400 block of South South Chicago Avenue when a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

Arron Brandon Walker was struck in the chest and hip, and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Area One detectives were investigating.
