SWAT team responds to barricade situation in Altgeld Gardens

A male with a gun was seen running into a home in the 900 block of East 133rd Street, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

Police were involved in a standoff Tuesday after a person barricaded themselves inside a home in Altgeld Gardens on the Far South Side.

Officers responded about 10:55 p.m. after a male with a gun was seen running into a home in the 900 block of East 133rd Street, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

A SWAT team responded to the scene, police said. No injuries have been reported.
