Woman shot in head, gravely wounded in East Garfield Park

Few details were released about the shooting that police said happened shortly before noon Tuesday in the 700 block of North Drake Avenue.

A woman was gravely wounded after she was shot in her head Tuesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

She was found shortly before noon in a second-floor apartment in the 700 block of North Drake Avenue, Chicago police said.

The 21-year-old woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in grave condition, according to Chicago fire spokesman Larry Merritt.

Additional details weren’t released.
