Man fatally shot in West Town apartment

About 6:30 a.m., the 39-year-old was inside of a 3rd floor apartment in the 1500 block of West North Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in the abdomen, Chicago police said.

A man was killed in a shooting Sunday in an apartment in West Town, police said.

About 6:30 a.m., the 39-year-old was inside of a 3rd floor apartment in the 1500 block of West North Avenue when someone he knew shot him in the abdomen, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Isaac Hidalgo. He lived in Logan Square.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
