A 22-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting another man last month in Brainerd on the South Side.
Tyree Belfield is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tysean Thomas, Chicago police said.
About 2:50 p.m. Feb. 8, Belfield allegedly shot Thomas multiple times in the 9000 block of South May Street, Chicago police said.
Thomas, 20, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead two days later, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Belfield was taken into custody Thursday by the Great Lake Regional Fugitive Task Force, police said.
He is expected to appear in court Saturday.
