Suspected drunk driver crashes into South Shore home

The driver, a 30-year-old man, was headed west on 71st Street when he drove his 2020 Chevy Malibu into the side of a single-family home near South Shore Drive, Chicago police said.

A suspected drunk driver crashed into a home Tuesday in South Shore.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, was headed west on 71st Street about 9:10 p.m. when he drove his 2020 Chevy Malibu into the side of a single-family home near South Shore Drive, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition, and a passenger of his refused medical attention, police said.

The house suffered minimal damage, police said.

Police said the crash appears to be alcohol related, and charges are pending.
