Police are warning of five businesses that were burglarized in March 2021, in West Town.

Chicago police are warning residents of a string of burglaries reported in West Town on the West Side.

In each incident, someone used a tool to pry open a door, and stole items such as laptop computers and tools, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • About 2:30 a.m. March 4 in the 400 block of North Ada Street;
  • About 3:30 a.m. March 7 and about 12:15 a.m. March 18 in the 1400 block of West Carroll Street;
  • Between 3:20 a.m. and 9 a.m. March 24 in the 400 block of North Aberdeen Street; and
  • Between 7:45 a.m. March 24 and 9 a.m. March 25 in the 1500 block of West Carroll Street.

The tornado drill will be conducted by the National Weather Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday and will include use of emergency signals on radios, according to the weather service. The drill is part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week.
