Car thefts reported in Englewood

Chicago police are warning residents of a string of recent car robberies in Englewood on the South Side.

Several cars were stolen in February and March, Chicago police said. In each incident, a person parked their vehicle and found it missing the same day or the next day.

The robberies happened:

  • Feb. 18 in the 7000 block of South Laflin Avenue;
  • Feb. 23 in the 7300 block of South Ashland Avenue;
  • Feb. 23 in the 7100 block of South Ashland Avenue;
  • Feb. 27 in the 1500 block of West 73rd Place; and
  • March 1 or March 2 in the 1400 block of West 72nd Street.

Police did not immediately have a description of the suspect.
