Woman shot to death while sitting in car in Roseland

The woman was killed in the 500 block of East 103rd Street Sunday.

A woman from Gary, Indiana was fatally shot as she sat in a car late Sunday in Roseland on the Far South Side.

The woman, 30, was in the driver’s seat of the car in the 500 block of East 103rd Street when shots were fired, Chicago police said.

She was struck several times and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead.

She was identified as Jessica Johnson by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy ruled her death a homicide.

Area Two detectives were investigating.
