2 dead in murder-suicide at Chatham apartment

A 47-year-old man and another man, 26, were found dead Friday in the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue, police said.

Two men were found shot dead in a murder-suicide Friday afternoon inside an apartment in Chatham on the South Side.

They were found unresponsive about 3:10 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue, Chicago police said.

Herman Kennedy, 47, had a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

The other man, 26-year-old Kameron Jackson, was unresponsive and also pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy ruled his death suicide by a gunshot wound to his head.

Officers recovered a handgun at the scene, police said.
