A man died hours after he was shot Saturday in the West Town neighborhood.

The 24-year-old was shot by someone who came up to him in an alley about 7:25 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Maypole Avenue, Chicago police said.

Struck in the abdomen, he was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

He was pronounced dead the next day at 2:19 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, who identified him as Courtney Macon, of the Jackson Park Highlands.
