Man fatally shot in Woodlawn

About 2:45 p.m., he was in the 1300 block of East Marquette Road when someone opened fire, striking him multiple times, Chicago police said.

A man was killed in a shooting Saturday in Woodlawn on the South Side, police said.

About 2:45 p.m., he was in the 1300 block of East Marquette Road when someone opened fire, striking him multiple times, Chicago police said.

The 21-year-old was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Darrell D. Johnson Jr., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
