A 17-year-old boy was shot and seriously wounded Sunday in Austin on the West Side.

The teen was in the 700 block of North Leamington Avenue when he was approached by a man who fired shots about 4:50 p.m., Chicago police said.

He was struck in the chest and leg, and brought to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
