A woman was fatally shot Saturday on the West Side.

Nicole I. Osborne, 37, was walking outside about 6:10 p.m. in the 3300 block of West North Avenue when someone opened fire, striking her in the back, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Autopsy results released Monday ruled her death a homicide, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
